Dirt Bikin' (the "App") is developed and operated by Sitachan Studios ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and secure your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide off-road navigation, track recording, and garage management, we collect the following types of information:

A. Precise Location Information

What we collect: High-accuracy geographic coordinates (GPS latitude, longitude, elevation, speed, and timestamp).

When we collect it: Only when you actively use the App, particularly when tracking a route or centering the map on your position.

Why we collect it: To render your real-time position on the map, draw recorded tracks, calculate stats (distance, elevation profiles), and support the optional location-sharing "Show Friends" feature.

B. Camera and Photos

Camera access: We request permission to access your device's camera to support scanning utility codes (such as rider identification).

Photo Library access: We access your photos only when you choose to attach images to your recorded rides. This includes reading geographical metadata (EXIF data) on selected photos to position them on the map.

C. Authentication & Profile Information

Google Sign-In / Firebase Auth: When you sign in to the App, we collect your name, email address, and Google profile photo URL.

Why we collect it: To securely authenticate you, prevent unauthorized access to your records, and display your profile to connected friends.

D. Device and Storage Data

Local Storage (Room Database): Track coordinates, motorcycle configurations, and saved routes are stored locally in your device's memory.

Network State: We monitor network availability to manage offline map downloads and synchronize cloud data when you are connected.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Core Functionality: To record trail routes, display live maps, calculate elevation profiles, and associate your motorcycles with specific rides.
  • Social Connections: If you explicitly enable the "Show Friends" toggle, we synchronize your live or shared coordinates with approved riders to display them on the map.
  • Offline Services: To allow downloading and cache-rendering vector map regions so they function without internet connectivity.
  • Maintenance & Security: To authenticate users, prevent database abuse, and diagnose performance issues.

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We value your privacy and do not sell your personal data. Your information is only shared under the following conditions:

  • User Consent (Friend Sharing): Your location is only shared with other users on the map if you explicitly choose to add friends and keep your location visible. You can turn this off at any time using the "Show Friends" toggle.
  • Cloud Infrastructure (Firebase): We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) to securely sync your account details and route listings.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical measures (such as SSL encryption and Firebase Security Rules) to protect your authentication records and route databases from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, please remember that no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Choices and Controls

  • Location Services: You can grant or revoke location access at any time through your Android system settings. If disabled, route recording and map navigation will not function.
  • Data Deletion: You can delete local or imported GPX tracks directly from the app catalog. If you wish to delete your entire synchronized cloud account and all associated route files, request it on our Delete Account page, or contact us at the email address listed below.
  • Camera/Photo Permissions: You can manage or revoke access to the camera and media library in your device's system settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party libraries and services:

  • Google Play Services / Firebase: For user authentication and real-time database syncing.
  • MapTiler / OpenStreetMap / osmdroid: For loading offline maps, displaying satellite/topographic layers, and rendering custom graphics.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not designed for or targeted at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this policy periodically.
